What's New

We've been Spotlighted!

As the owner of growing small business, I rely on a variety of sources to connect with potential new customers.  By far, the most helpful site that I have used has been www.thumbtack.com.  This lead-generation site provides a convenient way for businesses to connect to customers who are in need of their services.  I definitely recommend this site if you own a service-providing company of any kind!

As it turns out, I have had so much success using Thumbtack that Palm Aquarium Services is now rated on the site among the top aquarium service providers in southeastern Pennsylvania, and I am proud to say that they have chosen to spotlight this company on their page!

Company Policies

Please read the details below for information regarding the various company policies.  If you have questions or concerns regarding any of our policies, please contact us to let us know.

Customer Satisfaction

At Palm Aquarium Services, the happiness of our customers is of the utmost importance to us.  If for any reason you are not satisfied with the quality of the services you have received, please contact us immediately so the issue can be addressed.  We will do our best to correct the issue as quickly as possible, at no cost to you.  We encourage feedback of all kinds from our customers so we can continue to grow and ensure that you get the best service possible.

Respect for your Property

We greatly appreciate the hospitality provided by our customers for allowing us into their homes and workplaces to work on their aquariums.  As such, we make every effort to ensure that we respect both you and your property.  When working on your aquarium, towels are placed on the floor around the tank to catch any drips and prevent water damage to your carpet or flooring.  If we require access to your sink, restroom, or other facilities, we make sure that we leave the area just the way we found it.  Counters and sinks are wiped and dried, and any trash or debris will be disposed of.

We also want you, the customer, to be as comfortable as possible during our visit.  We do not wish to interfere with your daily routine, so we will do our best to provide as little interruption as possible to your home or business.  We will also do our best to comply with any personal requests, such as removal of shoes in your home, or any other requests that you may have.  We are very open to customer requests; if there is anything that will make you more comfortable during our visit, please let us know and we will do our best to respect your wishes.

Environmental Protection

The world's coral reefs are some of the most beautiful and vibrant environments on the planet.  Unfortunately, they are also some of the most fragile and endangered due to climate change, pollution, and human impact.  At Palm Aquarium Services, we believe that it is the duty of hobbiests and reef enthusiasts everywhere to ensure two main ideals.  One, that it is our responsibility to minimize the impact of our industry on natural reefs, and two, to do our best to assist in the research and rehabilitation of those reefs and ensure that they survive for future generations to enjoy.

As such, we make every effort to promote responsible reefing, meaning that whenever possible, we provide our customers with aquacultured fish, corals, and invertebrates.  This means that we try to use only livestock that was tank-raised, and not removed from the ocean whenever possible, and we encourage our customers to do the same.  While some species have not yet been successfully captive-bred, we prioritize species that were not removed from natural reefs.  We work with groups like the Oceans, Reefs, & Aquariums (ORA) organization to provide our customers with tank-raised livestock, and to promote research and education that will minimize our industry's impact on the world's coral reefs.

Some people ask why we continue to promote the reefkeeping hobby if the reefs are in danger.  We feel that by educating people about the reefs and promoting responsible reefkeeping, this hobby allows for the research and growth of species of corals and fish that may otherwise become endangered in the wild over the next few decades.  By promoting a responsible approach to the hobby, we can actually help to save the reefs in the long term.

While the reefs are in the most danger, we apply the same philosophy to our freshwater and specialty livestock as well, opting for tank-raised specimens of freshwater fish, cichlids, and other species over those removed from the wild.

Well-being of Livestock

At Palm Aquarium Services, we believe that it is our responsibility to ensure the health and safety of the livestock that we care for.  We are continually researching and developing the best and most recent techniques, strategies, and equipment to provide our customers with the best possible care of their fish, plants, corals, and invertebrates.  However, due to the unpredictable nature of working with sensitive live creatures, we do not guarantee the survival of any livestock.  We will reimburse customers for lost livestock only if the creature's death is a direct result of an act by a Palm Aquarium Services employee.  Reimbursements in these cases are provided at the sole discretion of Palm Aquarium Services management.  Any losses of newly purchased livestock are subject to return or refund policies of the live fish store where the livestock was purchased.

We reserve the right to refuse to perform any services that would endanger the health of aquarium livestock.  We will gladly offer alternative options to our customers in these circumstances.

Clean Equipment

We make sure that all our equipment and tools are cleaned and sanitized after each appointment, to avoid any potential cross-contamination of bacteria, algae, or parasites from one tank to another.  You can rest assured that we take every measure to avoid introducing any unwanted contaminants to your tank.

Refunds & Returns

Refunds are generally not permitted on services already performed by Palm Aquarium Services.  In the event that a customer has a complaint or issue with the quality of our work, we encourage them to contact us to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.  If the issue is determined to be a direct result of an action performed by a Palm Aquarium Services employee, the customer may be entitled to a full or partial refund, to be given at the sole discretion of Palm Aquarium Services management.

If a customer wishes to return any products or equipment that were purchased by Palm Aquarium Services on behalf of the customer, returns will be processed in accordance with the return policies of the store where the item(s) were purchased.  If a customer wishes to return products or equipment sold directly by Palm Aquarium Services, such returns are subject to the following policies:

  • Unopened merchandise may be returned for a refund within 30 days of the purchase date. The customer must provide a receipt for the item being returned.
  • Foods, medications, and liquid supplements may not be returned once opened.  Unopened items may not be returned after the item's expiration date.
  • All returned items may be subject to a 10% restocking fee.  If an item is defective or damaged, this fee may be waived.
  • Any items that have been used or installed in an aquarium may not be returned unless the items are defective.
  • If an item has been opened but not used or installed in an aquarium, the item may only be returned if all parts, accessories, and instructions are included.  This excludes foods, medications, and liquid supplements, which may not be returned once opened.
